1.What is a Switch?

A switch is a device in a computer network that connects other devices together.

Advantages of Switches:

They increase the available bandwidth of the network. They help in reducing workload on individual host PCs. They increase the performance of the network.

Disadvantages of Switches:
Following are the disadvantages of Switches: ➨They are more expensive compare to network bridges. ➨Network connectivity issues are difficult to be traced through the network switch. ➨Broadcast traffic may be troublesome. ➨If switches are in promiscuous mode, they are vulnerable to security attacks

2.What is a HUB?

Hubs are networking devices operating at a physical layer of the OSI model that are used to connect multiple devices in a network. They are generally used to connect computers in a LAN.

Advantages of HUBS:
Hub is that the central point of networking device that connects multiple hosting devices to one network. It allows data to urge transferred between themselves by functioning as a multi-port repeater. For this purpose, it uses either fiber optic cable or a twisted pair cable.

Disadvantages of HUBS:
It does not have mechanisms such as collision detection and retransmission of packets. It does not operate in full duplex mode. It can not connect different network architectures such as token ring and ethernet etc. It can not filter information i.e. it passes packets to all the connected segments.

3.What is Peer to Peer?

A peer to peer network is a network where each computer acts as a node and a server for the files it has123

Advantages of Peer to Peer:
Peer to peer networking has several benefits. For one, your computers can share data with each other effortlessly. They can also share common devices, like printers and CD ROMs, or even hard drives. The data can be shared in both directions quickly, without the need for routing through another computer.

Disadvantages of Peer to Peer:
Decentralization. Peer to Peer networking lacks the feature of centralization. There is no central server, thus files are stored on individual machines.
2
Performance. Performance is another issue faced by a peer to peer network. ...
3
Security. Security for individual files are comparatively less in peer to peer networking. There is no security other than assigning permissions.
4
Remote Access. In some cases, there can be unsecured types of codes present on a particular terminal. ...
5
Backup Recovery. Backup is made way difficult in P2P networks, since the data is not centralized. It is saved on various systems.
6
Virus Attacks. Peer to peer networks are more prone to malware and virus attacks since each connected computers are independent to each other.
7
Illegal Content. Most often peer to peer networks are used to transfer copyrighted contents like movies and music by implementing into torrents.
4.What is a Client server?

A client-server network is the medium through which clients access resources and services from a central computer, via either a local area network (LAN) or a wide-area network (WAN), such as the Internet.

Advantages of Client server:
A key advantage of the client-server network is the central administration of applications and data. A client-server network facilitates data transmission while protecting the sent data. Using the network is a smart solution for businesses looking for quicker and more secure data transfer.

Disadvantages of Client server:
1
Traffic Congestion. The primary disadvantage of client server network is the traffic congestion it undergoes. ...
2
Robustness. As we all know client server networks are centralized. In case if the main server happens to undergo failure or interference, then the whole network will be disrupted.
3
Cost. The cost involved in setting up and maintaining the server is usually high in client server network as it does on the network operations.
4
Maintenance. When the servers are implemented, it is going to work non-stop. Which means it must be given proper attention.
5
Resources. Not all the resources that is present on the server is acquirable.
